It's been a while since I've posted anything new.  I've had a block for a few weeks, but I'm back now! The paintings I'm doing now are available as cards, Gicle Prints, and the original 12x12 paintings.  I also have my art for sale at Ali Smith Cakes on Trent Road in New Bern.  I'm back at the Farmers Market in New Bern for the month of August on Saturdays from 8-2.  Stop by and see what's new!

a True Friend

Card Rack

All of my art is now available in greeting cards and now in magnets.
I have started carrying mugs too.

Art/drawing journal

This journal was also made from a recycled book cover and was made with the intention of eithor writing in or drawing in

I love the way this journal turned out.  The front cover looks like it is raining and has tiny umbrellas glued on it.  The paintings turned out well too.  I sold this one the same day I brought it to the market but wanted to post it because it was so darn cute!

I started making journals from recycled book covers.  I paint on the front and back of the book covers put journal paper in the middle and drill a hole through the cover and paper.  It is held together by a ring and ribbon.

Be Gentle With Yourself

I am always so hard on myself, so willing to accept criticism and beat myself up all  the time.  This picture was as much for me as it was for the rest of us who are our own worst critics.  I had a viewer of my art give me some harsh criticism recently, telling me he wouldn't pay $5 for my work.  It really hurt my feelings.  I wound up doubting myself for the rest of the night questioning if I should be painting at all.  I knew it would take 25 compliments to undo one insult, and even then, I would still doubt myself.  Well, the next day at the market I sold 3 paintings.  It helped boost my confidence and put that clod behind me.  I appreciate your feedback very much, even if it is criticism.  It helps me to get better at my craft.

She felt wrapped in the arms of Community.   Other words are by Martin Luther King, "Everything that is done in the world is done by hope".  I love both of these quotes.
